Hollywood's Doppelmoral

Yahoo! vergleicht die Tatsache, dass Taylor
Lautner (Jacob) momentan sehr häufig
oberkörperfrei abgebildet wird, mit einem
Aufruhr um ein Photoshoot der Vanity Fair mit
Miley Cyrus, dem Star aus Hannah Montana, im
letzten Jahr.

Remember the huge uproar in April 2008,
when 15-year-old Miley Cyrus appeared in
"Vanity Fair" wrapped in a sheet,
with her right shoulder and the top of her
back visible, implying that, under the sheet,
she wasn't wearing a shirt? [...] Now,
with the premiere of his movie, "The
Twilight Saga: New Moon," less than a
month away, magazines, websites, and TV are
blanketed with images of 17-year-old star
Taylor Lautner, shirtless and showing off the
body he trained for months to perfect for the
role. And yet, none of the cultural critics
[...] have said a word about the
sexualization of Taylor [...]. So, does
Hollywood have a double standard?

Erinnern Sie sich an den riesigen Eklat
im April 2008, als die 17-jährige Miley Cyrus

Bettlaken eingewickelt erschien, mit ihrer
rechten Schulter und dem oberen Ende ihres
Rückens sichtbar, unterstellend, dass sie
unter dem Bettlaken kein Shirt trug? [...]
Jetzt, durch die weniger als einen Monat
entfernte Premiere seines Filmes "Die
Twilight Saga: New Moon - Bis(s) zur
Mittagsstunde", sind Magazine, Websites
und TV mit Bildern des 17-jährigen Taylor
Lautner, oberkörperfrei und den Körper
zeigend, den er monatelang trainiert hat, um
ihn für seine Rolle zu perfektionieren,
bedeckt. Und bis jetzt hat keiner der
kulturellen Kritiker [...] ein Wort über die
Sexualisierung Taylors [...] gesagt. Hat
Hollywood also eine Doppelmoral?
